Concord-Carlisle owns the top spot in both the boys and girls MIAA Division 1 soccer power rankings, the first time this fall that the state has released its standings.

The MIAA published the rankings Tuesday, Sept. 29, based on results entered by member schools through 4 a.m. that morning. The Patriots' girls team (6-0-0, 4.8892 power rating) edged state finalist Franklin (6-1), while the boys (5-0-1) led second-place BC High by just 0.1 points despite identical records. The difference: a tougher schedule for Concord-Carlisle.

The two programs were a combined 11-0-1 at the time of the snapshot.

They have kept rolling since. The girls blanked No. 7 Hopkinton 5-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 30, as we reported Thursday. Emmy O'Donnell, the Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year who is committed to Duke, scored a hat trick. The girls' record now stands at 8-0. The boys followed Thursday, Oct. 1, with a 4-0 win over Bishop Feehan, according to MaxPreps, improving to 6-0-1.

The combined mark: 14-0-1.

Both squads reached the Division 1 state semifinals last season. The girls beat Bishop Feehan 1-0 on Nov. 13, 2025, to advance to the Final Four, while the boys fell to St. John's Prep 4-2 on Nov. 17, 2025.

The boys' early-season run has featured depth across the lineup. In a 4-0 road win over Framingham on Sept. 10, Max Hepworth recorded three assists and a goal, Rory Best scored twice, and goalkeeper Max Furman posted the shutout, the Concord Bridge reported.

Concord-Carlisle is not the only Dual County League program making noise in the boys rankings. MassLive reported that Newton South (No. 3) and Lincoln-Sudbury (No. 6) also landed in the top six. On the girls side, reigning Division 1 champion Natick opened at just 21st with a 2-2 record, according to MassLive.

The MIAA updates its power rankings at 11 a.m. each Tuesday and Friday for the rest of the regular season.
