Concord Center's annual Summer Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, August 1, will feature two free live bands performing simultaneously at separate stages, the Concord Chamber of Commerce announced.

Becky and the Swingin' Bards, a six-piece R&B, blues, and soul group with a female lead vocalist, will play in front of the Visitor Center on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Down on Walden Street, the Lincoln Traditional Jazz Band will perform during the same hours.

The sidewalk sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with merchant deals, food, and shopping throughout Concord Center. The band names and locations had not been announced at that time.

The bands

On their website, Becky and the Swingin' Bards describe themselves as a group that digs deep into soul, R&B, and blues, covering artists including Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, and BB King. The band is a familiar name in Concord, performing regularly at Main Streets Market & Cafe. Their own gig schedule lists the Saturday appearance as the "Concord Sizzling Sidewalk Sale."

The Lincoln Traditional Jazz Band is a Boston-area traditional jazz ensemble with a local following on Facebook.

What to know

The sale stretches across Concord Center with participating merchants offering outdoor deals. Live music starts at 11 a.m. and wraps around 2 p.m. The broader event runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prior Chamber announcements described the event as free.

Residents can catch soul and blues on Main Street by the Visitor Center or stroll to Walden Street for jazz without choosing one over the other, since both acts play the full three-hour window.
