A driver on Concord Turnpike was arrested early Sunday, July 12, after an officer observed the vehicle swerving and conducted a field sobriety test. The driver faces four charges: operating under the influence of alcohol (first offense), a marked-lanes violation, possession of a Class B substance, and driving with a suspended license, according to the Concord Police Department's weekly log published July 29.

The stop occurred at 12:34 a.m.

Vehicle-bicycle crash, Main Street (Thursday, July 9)

A 911 caller reported a crash between a car and a bicyclist on Main Street at 9:39 a.m. No serious injuries were reported. A July 24 Concord Bridge report found that a 2024 redesign of the Main and Walden streets intersection eliminated reported pedestrian crashes, but bicyclist incidents have persisted.

Vandalism at Concord District Court (Thursday, July 9)

At 2:10 p.m., a caller reported that someone threw an object at a window of Concord District Court on Lowell Road, breaking it. The caller described the vehicle that drove away, and a notice was sent to area police departments. Concord officers assisted Massachusetts State Police in documenting the scene.

Vehicle break-ins, Coburn Hill Road (Friday, July 10)

A resident reported at 3:55 p.m. that someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked overnight. The center console and glove compartment had been rummaged. A neighboring car appeared to have been targeted as well. Police were investigating.

Lamp theft, Walden Street (Saturday, July 11)

An employee at a Walden Street business called 911 at 1:05 p.m. to report that a person stole a metal desk lamp from the store. Police were unable to locate the suspect in the area.

Route 2 crash (Tuesday, July 14)

Massachusetts State Police requested Concord police assistance with a crash on Route 2 at 12:07 p.m. One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No road closure was noted in the log.

Other calls of note

On Wednesday, July 8, a Monument Street resident reported pieces of a vehicle bumper and debris in her driveway at 12:12 a.m., along with a damaged tree, suggesting an unreported overnight crash. Police cleared the debris.

Early on Saturday, July 11, at 12:17 a.m., Millennium Alarm reported multiple signals from Concord-Carlisle High School. Officers found one unrelated car in the parking lot and checked the building but found nothing out of the ordinary. A school employee reset the alarm. Later that day, police issued five parking citations on Varick Street after an Eaton Street resident complained about cars in a no-parking zone.
