Lexington families with elementary-aged children can pick up a free pair of new shoes Saturday, Aug. 29, at Grace Chapel's Back to School Bash on Worthen Road.
The church's Lexington campus at 59 Worthen Road will host the giveaway from 2 to 4 p.m., distributing new shoes to children entering kindergarten through fifth grade for the 2026-2027 school year. No registration is required. Shoes go out first-come, first-served, and kids must be present to receive a pair.
Beyond the shoe giveaway, the afternoon includes bounce houses, carnival games, face painting, balloon animals and snacks.
Admission is free.
Grace Chapel promoted the event on the Lexington Patch calendar, describing it as a free afternoon of family fun where families can gear up for the new school year with a pair of shoes. The church is also holding simultaneous Back to School Bash events at its campuses in Wilmington, Watertown and Foxboro the same day, according to Grace Chapel's website.
The event falls ahead of the start of the Lexington Public Schools' 2026-2027 school year, giving families a chance to check shoes off the supply list before the first day.
