Free outdoor concerts, a lunch with Concord police and the annual Summer Sidewalk Sale are among the events filling Concord's calendar over the next two weeks.

Music lovers have two chances each week to catch live performances outdoors. Concord Recreation's Summer Concert Series continues Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rideout Playground in West Concord, with the Beantown Swing Orchestra on July 23, Marc Berger and The Ride on July 30, and The Monkey Fingers on Aug. 6.

Another free concert series takes place Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. at Nashoba Brooks School, 200 Strawberry Hill Road. Concerts are held rain or shine, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and picnics.

The Concord Council on Aging will host its weekly free blood pressure clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center. The center will also hold a "Lunch with the Concord Police Department" at noon on July 22.

On Aug. 1, Concord Center transforms into an outdoor marketplace for the Chamber of Commerce's annual Summer Sidewalk Sale. Shops will offer specials from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while live jazz fills downtown with Becky and the Swingin' Bards performing near the Visitor Center and the Lincoln Traditional Jazz Band playing on Walden Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Other upcoming events include the Concord Museum's "Walt Whitman's American Dream" program at 6:30 p.m. July 23 and the Concord Band's "A Little Night Music" concert at Fruitlands Museum in Harvard at 7:15 p.m. July 24.
