Concord residents who want to vote by mail in the Nov. 3 state election must get their applications to the Town Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27.

That is the final cutoff. After it passes, voters who haven't applied will need to cast ballots in person.

The town's election notice says the Secretary of the Commonwealth has already mailed postage-paid vote-by-mail applications to all registered voters who do not have one on file for this calendar year. Residents who received a postcard should fill it out and return it to the clerk's office before the 5 p.m. deadline. Those who already applied will not receive a postcard.

Returning your ballot

Voters who receive a mail ballot face separate return deadlines. Hand-delivered ballots must reach the Town Clerk's Office by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 6 for domestic mail or by 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 for international mail.

Early in-person voting

Residents who miss the vote-by-mail deadline can still vote early in person. The Public Hearing Room in the Town House, 22 Monument Square, is open for early voting on weekdays through Friday, Oct. 30, during normal business hours, according to the town's election notice. No excuse is needed to vote early.

Separately, the Town Clerk's Office on the first floor of the Town House offers absentee voting during its regular hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to the town's voting page. Absentee voting at the clerk's office runs through Monday, Nov. 2, at noon.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, voters cast ballots at their assigned precinct:

  • Precinct 1: Community Development Building, 141 Keyes Road
  • Precinct 2: Harvey Wheeler Community Center, 1276 Main Street
  • Precinct 3: Harvey Wheeler Community Center, 1276 Main Street
  • Precinct 4: Hunt Gym, 90 Stow Street
  • Precinct 5: Hunt Gym, 90 Stow Street
