Concord police removed hate-group posters from the town's high school and surrounding areas on Sept. 12 after a caller reported the signs that morning.

The caller alerted police at 10:43 a.m. to a poster at the high school involving a hate group, according to the Concord Bridge's police log. Officers then found similar posters elsewhere in town, photographed them and took them down.

The log does not identify the hate group, describe the posters' content, or say how many were found. No suspects have been named. No arrests were reported.

The Concord Police Department had not issued a press release or public statement about the incident as of Sept. 30.

The posters appeared early in the 2026–27 school year.

Pattern of incidents

The incident is the latest in a string of bias cases in Concord. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has logged 11 cases of antisemitic vandalism or harassment in town since the start of 2025, the Concord Bridge reported. In July 2025, members of the Patriot Front white supremacist group distributed propaganda in Concord, according to the ADL.

School-based incidents account for a significant share. Of 33 bias incidents filed in Middlesex County in 2025, 14 originated in Concord and eight were school-based, according to Concord School Committee minutes from February 2026.

Tracking debate

Two days after the posters were found, the Concord Select Board discussed a proposed hate-incident reporting system on Sept. 14. A volunteer work group chaired by Select Board member Paul Boehm has been developing the system, which would centralize tracking now split among the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Concord Police and the school district.

As we reported Sept. 30, a Concord-Carlisle panel recently finalized a bias-tracking schedule for schools.

Rob Morrison, a member of the Concord-Carlisle Human Rights Council, spoke at a Sept. 8 public forum on the reporting proposal. "The alternative is to continue to keep our head in the sand," Morrison said at the forum, as reported by the Concord Bridge on Sept. 18.
