Drivers crossing the Assabet River bridge on Main Street in Concord face nightly single-lane traffic and delays after MassDOT began deck repairs Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is milling, repairing and repaving the bridge deck between Water Street and Pond Lane on Main Street, or Route 62, according to a Town of Concord advisory published Thursday, Oct. 1. The project is expected to continue for several weeks. The schedule is weather-dependent.
Crews work from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. One lane stays open with alternating traffic. Police officers or flaggers direct vehicles through the zone. Heavy equipment will be operating, and the town warned drivers to expect delays.
No end date or project cost has been announced. Residents with questions can contact Eric Zilinsky, a MassDOT District 4 engineer, at (781) 853-8927.
