Concord-Carlisle's girls cross country team swept a home tri-meet on Wednesday, Sept. 16, beating Lincoln-Sudbury 18-49 and Bishop Feehan 15-48.
Senior captain Maria Chopas won the race outright, according to Concord-Carlisle athletics. Pelin Turner finished second, giving CC the top two spots. Felicity Daglish placed fourth, Emma Kjaersgaard fifth and Lily Miles sixth. The Patriots packed six runners in the top 10, with Abby Adams eighth, Allie Sheppard ninth and Clara Cochran 10th.
The 15-point score against Bishop Feehan means CC's top five finishers occupied five of the first six places in that race. In cross country, lower team scores win.
Chopas enters her senior year after a standout 2025 campaign. She earned Boston Herald All-Scholastic honors in January after winning the Division 1B sectional championship in 18 minutes, 37.4 seconds and the Amherst Invitational. She also holds the Concord-Carlisle record for the two-mile run. At the MIAA Meet of Champions in November 2025, Chopas clocked 18:26.32, ranking her No. 145 in the Northeast on MileSplit's returning-runners list.
She is not the only returning talent. Turner, Daglish, Kjaersgaard, Miles, Sheppard and Adams all competed for CC at the 2025 MIAA Meet of Champions at Devens. Daglish and Kjaersgaard were freshmen on that squad and are now sophomores. Six CC runners earned Dual County League All-Star recognition in 2025, according to the Herald.
The Boston Herald's high school roundup confirmed the scores and noted that CC's boys cross country team also swept the same tri-meet, beating Bishop Feehan 15-50 and Lincoln-Sudbury 25-36.
No individual finishing times were reported for the Sept. 16 races.
