Concord-Carlisle field hockey lost 1-0 to Nashoba Regional on Wednesday, Oct. 28, dropping the Patriots to 10-5-2 with one regular-season game left.

The non-conference home loss came against a Nashoba squad sitting at 15-1-1, according to MaxPreps. The Wolves entered the week ranked fourth in the MIAA Division 2 power rankings, according to the Sentinel & Enterprise.

Concord-Carlisle wraps up the regular season Friday, Oct. 30, hosting Reading at home, according to the school's athletics account on X.

State tournament preparation

The Patriots are already looking beyond the regular season. The school's athletics department posted on X on Oct. 28 that the team is seeking a scrimmage before the state tournament and directed interested programs to contact Coach Mary Desmond.

Desmond was hired in May 2026 to lead the varsity program, according to the school's athletics department.

According to the MIAA's Division 1 field hockey power rankings, the top 32 power-rated teams qualify for the tournament regardless of record. Teams ranked 33rd or lower qualify for a play-in game with a .500 or better record. At 10-5-2, the Patriots are well above that threshold.

Last fall, Concord-Carlisle finished 9-4-5 and was projected as a likely top-10 seed in the Division 1 tournament, according to the school's athletics account. The 2026 squad has already surpassed that win total with the Reading finale still ahead.
