Concord-Carlisle boys soccer closed its regular season with a 3-0 loss to Oliver Ames on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Concord-Carlisle High School.

The Patriots faced the Boston Globe's top-ranked team in their finale. Oliver Ames entered the game unbeaten, while CC was ranked No. 6 in the Globe's Oct. 27 poll. The Globe's soccer notebook had billed the matchup as the "game of the week."

The shutout loss capped a stretch in which the Patriots lost two of their final four regular-season games. CC tied Weston 0-0 on Oct. 26, according to MaxPreps, before falling to the Tigers on Sunday.

The team's final record carries a wrinkle. A post on the team's X account after the game listed the season-ending mark at 11-4-2. MaxPreps standings, updated the night of Nov. 1, show CC at 12-5-2 overall. The reason for the gap is unclear.

In Dual County League play, CC finished fourth at 6-3-2 in league games, per MaxPreps. Lincoln-Sudbury sat one spot ahead at 7-2-3. In the MA Division North 1 standings on MaxPreps, CC held a .684 winning percentage, level with Andover and just ahead of Lexington (.676).

The boys soccer regular season runs through Tuesday, Nov. 3. Tournament brackets are scheduled for release Thursday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m., according to the Boston Globe's postseason guide. Playoffs begin Friday, Nov. 6.
