Concord-Carlisle's varsity girls volleyball team lost 3-0 to Westford Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at home, stretching the Patriots' losing streak to six matches.
The defeat drops Concord-Carlisle to 2-10 overall and 1-8 in the Dual County League, 10th in the standings, according to MaxPreps. Athletic Director Aaron Joncas posted the result on X through the school's athletics account, and the Lowell Sun confirmed the score in its statewide roundup.
Set scores and individual statistics were not available for the Westford match.
The Patriots have not won since a Sept. 25 sweep of Shawsheen Valley Tech on Digs for Cancer night. That victory and an earlier win over Boston Latin on Sept. 23 account for the team's only two wins this season. Since then, Concord-Carlisle has been swept in every outing, including a 3-0 loss to Lincoln-Sudbury on Sept. 29 and a 3-0 loss to Burlington on Oct. 1, as the Concord Bridge reported.
The road has been especially unkind. Concord-Carlisle is 0-5 away from home and 2-5 on its own court.
Still, individual performances have provided bright spots during the rough stretch. Libero Kylie Hoang posted a game-high 16 digs in the Lincoln-Sudbury loss, and setter Keira Sterry led with 10 assists against Burlington. In the Shawsheen win, defensive specialist Mackenna Antonangeli recorded five aces and 14 digs, while pin hitters Elia Han and Nifemi Oladapo each tallied eight kills, according to Concord Bridge coverage. Middle blocker Sadie Constable and pin hitter Adrienne Venesy have also been part of the Patriots' rotation this fall.
Concord-Carlisle travels to Wayland on Friday, Oct. 16, at 5:15 p.m. for a Dual County League match. The Patriots then host Acton-Boxborough on Monday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. and welcome Lexington on Friday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m.
