The town will close Spencer Brook Road to through traffic beginning Monday, July 20, as crews replace a culvert. The project is expected to last until Oct. 15.
Lawrence-based Kodiak Corporation will begin moving equipment onto the site July 20, according to Concord's Engineering Division.
Residents who live on Spencer Brook Road will still be able to reach their homes. Local access will remain open between Pope Road and the construction area, though drivers should expect delays while crews work.
Everyone else will need to follow posted detours around the closure. Heavy equipment will be on site throughout the project, and traffic patterns in the area will change for the next three months. A detour map is available on the town's website.
The Spencer Brook Road closure is one of several road projects underway in Concord this summer, alongside work on Old Bedford Road and Maple Street.
The town has not released the project's cost or explained why the culvert is being replaced. Residents with questions can contact the Concord Engineering Division at 978-318-3210 or [email protected].
