Lexington families will get a chance to hear from School Committee members and weigh in on the district's community outreach plans at a forum on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The Community Conversation Forum runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lexington High School Library, on the main building's first floor at 251 Waltham St. The event is in-person only, according to the meeting agenda posted by Lexington Public Schools.

After a brief call to order at 6 p.m., committee members will break into small groups with residents for roughly two and a half hours of discussion. The agenda describes the forum's aim as gathering "feedback and input for the School Committee in its planning for community outreach sessions in the next school year."

The agenda does not list specific discussion topics for the small groups.

Unlike regular School Committee meetings, which offer a hybrid Zoom option, the Nov. 3 forum requires in-person attendance.

The forum comes as the committee enters a busy stretch of budget and policy work. The Oct. 13 full committee agenda included discussion and a possible vote on FY28 budget guidelines and a calendar, an Oct. 1 enrollment update, high school building project updates and votes on supervision and evaluation memoranda of agreement. That agenda also listed items on artificial intelligence strategic goals, an Alpha School review process update, food services and catering, and a Dyslexia and ADHD Awareness Month proclamation.

The committee's Finance Subcommittee agenda for the same day covered Chapter 70 state funding data, a first-quarter report preview and budget guidelines.

The committee is chaired by Larry Freeman.

The Nov. 3 forum begins at 6 p.m. at Lexington High School, 251 Waltham St. No registration requirement appears in the posted agenda.
