Cyclists and pedestrians who use the Minuteman Bikeway in Lexington will need alternate routes on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 22, as the town shuts down two sections for repair work.
The Lexington Department of Public Works announced the closures in a notice posted Monday, Oct. 19. The 10-mile paved rail trail will be closed to all users between Bedford Street and River Street on Wednesday and between River Street and Hancock Street on Thursday.
The department described the work as necessary repair and maintenance but did not specify what repairs are planned or how long each day's closure will last.
Closure signage will be posted on-site, according to the notice. The department directed path users to take alternate public routes during the work.
