Lexington's Capital Expenditures Committee (CEC) will review Department of Public Works capital projects at a virtual working session Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8 a.m.

The committee will also discuss its report for the Fall Special Town Meeting and a Financial Summit, according to the meeting agenda posted by the town. The session is expected to last about 60 minutes. No public comment will be accepted.

The agenda lists the DPW review as "anticipated, but not limited to" that department. The specific projects under consideration were not identified.

The CEC's report is one of several that Town Meeting members will consider when the Special Town Meeting convenes Monday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Margery Milne Battin Hall in the Cary Memorial Building.

What's on the Special Town Meeting warrant

The warrant, signed Oct. 5 by Select Board Chair Joseph N. Pato and members Vineeta A. Kumar, Jill I. Hai, Douglas M. Lucente and Mark D. Sandeen, contains six articles. They cover reports from town boards and committees, appropriations for prior years' unpaid bills, changes to stabilization funds, amendments to the fiscal year 2027 operating budget, supplemental funding for authorized capital improvements and departmental revolving funds.

Dollar amounts for each funding article were listed as "unknown at press time" in the warrant.

Article 5, on capital improvements, would provide supplemental money for projects including water mains, sewers, streets, buildings and other capital improvements where revised cost estimates exceed prior appropriations.

The Town Meeting will use a hybrid format. Members can attend in person or join via Zoom. Select Board member Joe Pato developed the online voting and debate-queuing tools the meeting will use, according to the warrant. Other residents can watch through LexMedia or attend in person in areas reserved for non-members.

Residents who want to participate can email the Town Clerk's Office at [email protected] or visit the town's Special Town Meeting page online.

The Nov. 5 CEC session is open to the public via Zoom. The meeting ID is 456 375 8551 and the passcode is 012898.
