The Town of Concord posted a formal bid solicitation Friday, July 17, seeking contractors to refurbish Pumper Engine 8, a 2016 E-One Typhoon housed at Station 2 on Main Street in West Concord.

The engine carries a 1,250-gallon-per-minute pump and a 510-gallon water tank. It is one of four Class-A pumpers in the Concord Fire Department's fleet.

Interested contractors must submit written questions by Thursday, July 24, at 4 p.m. The town will respond with numbered addenda by Monday, July 28. Sealed bids are due Monday, August 3, at 11 a.m. at the Town Clerk's Office, first floor, 22 Monument Square. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately afterward in the Select Board Hearing Room on the second floor.

The full bid package is available at concordma.gov/bids.aspx. Amanda Moore, the town's procurement manager, is the designated contact.

Concord took a similar approach in 2024 when it refurbished Ladder 1, a 2011 E-One Cyclone II, through Greenwood EV. The specific scope of work and estimated cost for the Engine 8 project have not been publicly released.

The next milestone is the August 3 bid opening at 22 Monument Square.
