Catherine Kilmartin scored the only goal as Concord-Carlisle girls soccer beat Lexington 1-0 at Lincoln Park on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Co-captain Emmy O'Donnell, the reigning Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year, delivered the assist that set up Kilmartin, according to the Boston Herald's roundup. The win lifted the Patriots to 10-2 on the season, per MaxPreps.

It was a bounce-back stretch for the Patriots. O'Donnell and Kilmartin both missed a 6-1 loss at No. 1 Medfield on Oct. 10, according to the Boston Globe's Top 20 poll. The pair returned for a 5-1 rout of Newton South on Oct. 13 and combined for the winner against Lexington four days later.

O'Donnell, a senior committed to Duke, and Kilmartin, a junior committed to Boston College, have connected repeatedly this fall. O'Donnell notched a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Hopkinton on Sept. 30 and scored two goals in the season-opening 3-1 win over Algonquin Regional on Sept. 8, according to the Concord Bridge.

The Globe ranked Concord-Carlisle No. 4 in its Top 20 poll as of Oct. 14. The Patriots' only losses have come against Winchester, 1-0 in the Krauss Cup final on Oct. 3, and at Medfield.

Lexington stood at 5-2-4 as of Oct. 15, according to the Globe. The team had posted a 3-0-2 mark over its previous five games heading into the CC matchup. Lexington coach Josh Sideman told the Globe before the rivalry game that consistency was the key for his squad.

"The biggest thing for us is just consistency," Sideman said in the Globe's Oct. 15 feature. "If we are consistent, good things are going to happen."

The loss stings. Lexington reached the MIAA tournament's second round last fall and returned 16 players, including eight starters, according to the Globe.

Concord-Carlisle travels to No. 16 Wayland on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 4:30 p.m. in a Dual County League clash.
